SkinSafe is an internationally acclaimed application created by Aryan Mittal and Aryav Nagar.

Melanoma is a prevalent form of skin cancer that can manifest anywhere on the body, but predominantly affects areas exposed to sunlight such as the face, neck, hands, and arms.

Reported by the CDC, melanoma ranks as the fifth most common type of cancer, with approximately 106,110 new cases in the United States in 2021 alone.

Based on data from 2016-2018, around 2.3% of both men and women are at risk of developing skin melanoma at some stage in their lives.

While melanoma often originates as a benign "mole" on the skin, gradually evolving in size or color over time, many individuals fail to seek medical advice either due to lack of awareness or limited healthcare accessibility. This delay in diagnosis allows melanomas to progress unchecked, posing increasing challenges for a successful treatment.

SkinSafe effectively combats this concerning scenario by leveraging advanced deep learning technology to analyze moles directly from users' smartphones. With a robust database of over 10,000 training images, our artificial intelligence can identify potential melanoma presence without the immediate intervention of a physician.
